Lynette Reed

Lynette Reed came up in the grittiness of 1980s New York, acting and modeling while studying ceramics at Parsons. She later took her career to Milan, Tokyo, and Zurich before landing in Los Angeles, where she founded, scaled, and later sold her company, Illume Candles.

Painting came later. She began pursuing it seriously during the pandemic, and her work has since been featured in solo exhibitions in Antwerp and Milan, shown at the London Art Biennale, and collected from Australia to Dubai.

After licensing her work to other brands, Lynette found herself altering and diluting her art to accommodate client revisions. She decided to stop—and founded Lynette Reed Studio, where the work stays entirely hers: maximalist, saturated with color, and made to bring boldness into a home rather than blend into it.

Lynette draws on a lifetime of creativity and a distinctly European point of view. She’s stopped making herself smaller or more polished for anyone. Being authentic and bold is who she is.
