Lauren Pizzi
Lauren Pizzi is a painter and designer who received her B.F.A. in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2015. She began studying oil painting at age eleven under the guidance of artist and lifelong mentor Sue Gilkey.
Influenced early on by the Impressionists, Pizzi initially focused on landscapes and still lifes before turning to contemporary figurative realism. Her most recent work explores the unseen realities of chronic illness, making visible what is often carried quietly. Through immersive backgrounds and patterned garments that merge with the figure, she reflects how illness becomes interwoven with identity and daily life.
In addition to painting, Pizzi designs repeating patterns featuring anatomical motifs and florals that translate into textiles and wallpaper. Her work has been exhibited in Stowe, Vermont; Savannah, Georgia; and internationally in Lacoste, France. She lives and works in Massachusetts.
