Karen Margolis

Karen Margolis’ intricate mixed-media work has been exhibited internationally from Los Angeles to the Netherlands. Inspired by maps and the significance of the journey, she uses burning techniques to create a sense of lightness amidst density. In the fall of 2019, her pieces will be displayed at Foley Gallery in New York City, where she resides.

Margolis recently completed a public art commission of mosaic panels for MTA Arts in Transit at the 86th Street subway station (N line) in Brooklyn. Her work is included in Cut Up/Cut Out, a traveling exhibition that will visit museums throughout the United States from 2016 to 2020.
