INGRID RESTEMAYER

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Ingird Restemayer is a fiber artist and printmaker whose mixed media artwork incorporates traditional hand-embroidery techniques, hand-dyed papers, hand-pulled prints, collage, and process-intensive fine art mediums.

Ingrid’s work emulates peaceful beauty in its monotony, and a calmness through repetition. With a hint of storytelling using intaglio images as pseudo-illustrations, her work has a kind of narrative when paired with code-like paragraph shapes formed from embroidery.

Using needle and thread, Ingrid stitches her work by hand. She believes sustainable tactics in art creation often have the power to promote human interaction.
