Daniel Kowacki

(1997–2025)

Born in Częstochowan, Daniel Kowacki was an extraordinary Polish painter and illustrator whose work became known for its poetic exploration of light. He developed a distinctive voice centered on komorebi, the phenomenon of sunlight filtering through leaves, and transformed it into a powerful visual language of memory, presence, and stillness.

His paintings were presented at DESA Unicum in Warsaw and in solo exhibitions at Art Office Gallery and Fabryka Sztuki in Łódź, reflecting his growing influence within the contemporary art world.

In 2025, Daniel began expanding his work into new mediums, including its translation into wallpaper for this collection, bringing his signature interplay of light and shadow into the built environment. He unexpectedly passed away in November 2025 during this collaboration.

His legacy lives on through a body of work that invites reflection, reminding us to pause and notice the quiet beauty that surrounds us.
