Commissioned Art
Create Custom Wallcoverings with Area’s In house Artist.
Sourcing art for walls can be hard if you can’t find what you’re looking for. The same goes for wallcoverings. Our Custom Design team can help create the perfect wallcovering for your next project.
ArT Style for any style
We aren’t limited to what art we can create for you. Take a look at some of the styles we use to create custom wallcoverings for our clients.
How a commissioned project Works

01 | Brief
The client was looking for petal-like design with gold metallic elements that could be an exciting and visually interesting addition to their coffee bar in Rhode Island—inspired by the state flower, the blue violet.

02 | Mock-Up
We provide an initial concept and composition based on client brief. Our artist may provide multiple interpretations of the brief at this step. The goal is not to match the color or get the details, but to get the creative conversation started.

03 | Draft
While still only representational, Draft 2 is the next iteration of the design. This guides our artist and clients toward a more final design—creating a real proof of concept.

04 | Refine
A larger and more detailed work of art is created based on all the information collected during the first two drafts. The objective is to get something as close to the final design as possible. At this step we continue to look for client feedback to refine even further.

05 | Approval
We make any last changes to the design and adjust the color to meet the client’s needs. Once the artwork is in a good place, we build the drawing for approval and print off a strike-off for review.

06 | INSTALL
After strike-off approval, Area prints the wallcovering and ships to client’s location for installation.
