Born and raised in North Carolina, Amy Abig's love of nature arose from an idyllic childhood of barefoot summers and time spent between the beach and the mountains. Much of her young adult life involved college and family, making an art career impossible, but her need to create always resurfaced. In 2015, with no formal training, she began painting; in the short time since, her haunting floral compositions have found admirers worldwide. As a hopeless romantic, Abig hopes her art will give rise to an array of emotions, including sadness: "Even in sadness there's beauty," she explains. "It means you've loved and lost, you've cared, you've felt, you're alive."
