The “Embedded” series from artist Dusa Jesih is a powerful yet soothing collection. The transformation from the original paintings into murals allows the viewer to enjoy the textures and layers in more detail, while their color palettes and overall composition create a peaceful mood.
The name “Dusa” refers to the soul, which the artist takes seriously and incorporates into her work. She states, “To me soul is important; it’s inconceivable, weightless, cannot die, doesn’t crease or mold, and doesn’t get moth-eaten.” To Jesih, the concept of the soul – and the soul itself – provide inspiration for all of her works.
Jesih was born and raised in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and continues to work and further her art studies in her hometown. She has served as a mentor in various art classes at the Slovenian University and belongs to the Community Association of Slovenian Artists (ZDSLU). In 2012, Jesih entered the MA program at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljulbljana. She continues to participate in numerous exhibitions and projects and has received many awards.
